Cherished by miners, cowhands and pioneers through the generations, sourdough is one of the most interesting ingredients in our culinary tradition. True sourdough bears little resemblance to most of the modern bread that is frequently labeled as sourdough. In this workshop, learn the history of this effervescent bubbling batter and how it literally kept pioneers and their stock alive. We’ll be working with a sourdough start that has been handed down through the Bell Family for over 130 years and will see how it is used in breads, desserts, and even main dishes.
